Annie Anite Randall was born on December 20, 1958, in New Kent County, Virginia, the daughter of Elizabeth Jones-Randall and the late George Melvin Randall. The late Berbenna and Willie Randall Sr., whom she called “Daddy Buster” and “Momma Berbenna”, were very instrumental in her early upbringing.
At an early age, Annie confessed to Christ as her Personal Savior and became a member of Herbert Baptist Church, Wachapreague, VA. She attended the Eastern Shores Public schools; graduating from Central High school with the Class of 1976. She furthered her education at Norfolk State University.
After marrying William Smith on November 26, 1977, Annie relocated to Baltimore, Maryland. She began her career in the Department of Personnel Application Control with the State of Maryland. She was very good at working with the public. After her department merged, she was promoted to the Department of Budget and Management where she later retired.
Annie was a very outspoken person. She loved her family and enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible at family gatherings. She loved playing Spades and traveling. It was nothing for her to jump in the car and say “She was on her way to the Eastern Shore to join my sisters.”
On Thursday evening, August 15, 2019, God’s angels visited Annie in the Senator Bob Hooper Hospice House, Forest Hill, Maryland and took her home to heaven with them.
She is preceded in death by her brother, George Melvin Randall. She leaves to cherish her beautiful memories with her brothers, Uyl Victor Randall, Melvin Randall, Melvin L. Randall (Dionne), and Allister Randall (Cheryce); sisters, Hazel V. Randall, Carrie Blount (Wallace), Alicia Randall, Betty Randall, Bonnie Sue Randall, and Felicia Randall; nieces, Niquita Andrews (Clifford), Erica Blanding- Harris (Antwon), Tynika Randall-Rambo (Carlton), Tykesha Randall and Dominique Blount-Jordan (Lamar); and a host of devoted aunts, uncles, cousins, great-nieces and friends
