On Saturday, July 20, 2019, God saw fit to call our beloved brother Bernard “Juice” Johnson home to eternal rest. Bernard was born on May 13, 1938, the son of the late Evelyn Johnson Davis, of Williamsburg, Virginia.
He attended Bruton Heights School. He was employed as a Room Service Attendant at the Williamsburg Lodge; retiring after forty-four years of dedicated service.
“Juice”, as he was affectionately known, was a kind and caring person. He loved his family, friends and the Washington Redskins. If anyone needed a helping hand, he was there to lend one. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Irvin Johnson and Moses Johnson. He leaves to cherish his memories with, Martha Faulcon, of Newport News, and Gail Hedgepeth, of Woodbridge, Virginia; five nieces; four nephews; a host of cousins, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, July 27, 2019, in Whiting's Chapel, with Dr. Ronald A. Ellis, officiating. Family and friends to assemble at the funeral home by 12:00 noon. Interment to follow in the Morning Star Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Johnson may be viewed on Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the hour of his service.
