Bobby M. Burks, Sr.

On Wednesday, October 30, 2019, God had a plan, and it was to send His angels to bring home for eternal rest, our beloved Bobby Mardell Burks Sr.  His earthly journey began on June 27, 1960.  He was the son of the late Leslie Morris and Viola Clayton Burks, of Lackey, Virginia. 

He worked at Kiln Creek for many years and gained a lot of respect from his peers.  He was a hard worker and never complained.  He brought joy and a certain light to life when you were in his presence. 

He was preceded in death by his brothers; William Burks, Frank Burks, Harry Marvin, and sisters; Sally Ransome and Laura Burke. 

As we celebrate his life today, he leaves to cherish his loving memories, his beloved children, Monika Burks, Bobby Burks Jr., Domonique King (Burks), QuaShawn Burks and Michael Burks; nine grandchildren; wife, Vickie Hanes-Burks; sisters, Rochelle Burks, Ophelia Burks, Theodore Burks and Shirley Gray; nieces; nephews; special friend, Quincy;  and a host of other relatives and friends.
