David “Old -School” Jackson, was born on January 31, 1963, the eldest son of Mrs. Letha and Mr. Charles Jackson, Sr. On January 10, 2020, the Lord saw fit to bring him home for eternal rest, in Riverside Doctors’ Hospital, Williamsburg, Virginia.
David was preceded in death by his mother anid father, Letha and Charles Jackson, Sr.; stepfather, Joseph Hyman; grandparents, Bessie Monroe and Sherman Youghbro; brothers, Jeremiah Jackson and Michael; two nephews, Jeremiah Jackson, Jr. and Bobby Jackson.
Left to cherish beautiful memories are his beloved wife, Dorenda Jackson; daughters, Simon Roberts and Kalia Thoron; son, David Thorn; stepchildren, David Baldwin, Devon Baldwin, and Angel Baldwin; twelve grandchildren; sisters, Junita Jackson (David Lynch), Diane (Tim Thomas); Thelma (Tim Taylor); and Sadie (Windell Osborn); brother, Charles Jackson; aunt, Kim Monroe; fourteen nieces and nephews; twelve great-nieces and great-nephews; three great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and a host of other family members and friends.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate the life of David will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2020, at Whiting's Chapel with Elder Steven Waddell officiating. Family and friends to assemble at the funeral home by 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Mr. Jackson may be viewed beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the hour of his service on Friday.
Mrs. Dorenda Jackson is asking all that possibly can to wear your favorite Sports Jersey to the service. Those that know David know that he loved the Cowboys and football.
