Elizabeth B. "Lilly Buck" Marvin

Elizabeth B Marvin, a loving mother, and friend, known as “Lilly Buck”, departed this wonderful life on October 5, 2019, at Riverside Regional Medical Center.  Her life began on April 29, 1938, the daughter of the late Dorothy Lewis.

She attended James Weldon Johnson school where she was an avid basketball player and trained to be a Dental Hygienist. On September 20, 1959, she was joined in Holy Matrimony with the late Harry L. Marvin by Reverend Joseph T. Holmes.  Elizabeth retired from York Intermediate School after many years of service.  She was a member of Rising Sun Baptist Church.

“Lilly Buck” was a stylish dresser who always had a good time and loved to surround herself around family and great friends; her favorite saying was “Do What Makes You Happy”

Elizabeth was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry L. Marvin.  She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her daughters, Pamela Crew and Harriett Morrison (Dwayne); four grandchildren, Lakia Marvin, Lauren Ford (Alex), Rickey Shoulders, and Arthur Crew III ; nine great-grandchildren; brother Donald Holiday (Carrie); Diane Brown, whom she treated as a daughter that was always there when she needed her; nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, and caring friends.

A service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 12, 2019, in Rising Sun Baptist Church.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  Family and friends to assemble at the church by 10:30 a.m. Saturday.  Mrs. Marvin may be viewed from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
