The Life of Mr. Ernest Pernell Bartlett Jr.
July 26, 1955 ~ September 20, 2017
On Wednesday, September 20, 2017, God’s angels came quietly to Laurel Regional Medical Center in Maryland and whispered silently “My dear Ernest, your work on earth is done; your days of trials and tribulations will be no more. Come rest beside the still waters and be at peace.” He was born on July 26, 1955, son of Doris N. and the late Ernest Pernell Bartlett Sr., of Williamsburg, Virginia.
At an early age, he accepted Christ as his personal savior. He attended York High School; after which he was employed as a Brick Masonry Contractor, retiring after forty years of service.
He was united in holy matrimony to the late Ellie R. Bartlett. Together they shared a long, loving life in Washington, D.C.
Ernest was preceded in death by his stepmother, Clara Bartlett, brother, David Bartlett, sisters, Latrese Edwards and Mary Donaldson.
He leaves to cherish his blessed, precious memories, his wonderful and loving mother, Doris N. Bartlett Edwards; loving daughter, Markia Maxwell (Arron); two grandchildren, Arron and Arriyona; sisters, Vanessa Bartlett, Yvonne Hamilton (Clarence), Joyce Ashby and Tracy Moore (Ronald); brothers, Stanley Bartlett (Tongi), Joseph Bartlett (Chante) and Johnny Bartlett (Cary); brother-in-law, Edward Donaldson; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and caring friends.
