I heard the voice of Jesus say, come unto Me and rest.
Lay down, thou weary one, Lay down thy head upon My breast.
I came to Jesus as I was- Weary and worn and sad.
I found in Him a resting place, And He has made me glad!
On Saturday, May 18, 2019, our beloved Ethel Jane Meekins went home to be with the Lord. Her life began on June 17, 1963, the daughter of the late Alice and Robert Meekins. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Joyce Meekins, Rosemary Meekins, Eliza Meekins, and Anita Meekins, brothers, Richard Meekins and Wardell Meekins.
Her loving memories will forever remain in the hearts of her siblings, Abbie Meekins, Sarah Meekins, and John Meekins; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Ethel was a loving kind person. Every time you saw her she had a smile on her face. Although she never had kids of her own, she loved all her nieces and nephews like they were hers. She loved their children like they were her grandchildren. She was someone you can depend on no matter what she was going through. To know her was to love her and she will be truly missed. We find comfort in knowing that she is no longer in pain and she is at peace resting in the arms of The Almighty Jesus Christ! We love and miss you, Ethel! Rest In Peace!
A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2019, in Williamsburg Memorial Park with the Reverend Morris L. Randall officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery by 12:30 p.m. on Thursday.
