Roberta L. Carter Christian, drifted off into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at home in Williamsburg, Virginia. She was born on May 12, 1945, the daughter of the late Louise Foster and Garland Carter.
At an early age, she confessed Christ as her Personal Savior and joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church, in Church View, Virginia. She was educated in Middlesex Public Schools. As a caring and compassionate person, she enjoyed a successful career helping people as a Nursing Assistant. In 2010, she married Willie Christian.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Croxton. She is survived by her husband, Willie Christian; three children, Bianca N. Carter, of Newport News, Kunta F. Carter, of West Point, and P. Carter; granddaughter; brothers, James and Logan Croxton, of Philadephia, Garland, Gilbert, and Wilbert Carter, of Middlesex, Va.; sisters, Virginia Ward, Irene and Nanny Reed, Molly Jackson, Mary Carter, and Caroline Carter Holmes; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2019, in Whiting’s Chapel. Interment to follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Christian may be viewed beginning at 12:00 noon until the hour of her service on Wednesday.
