Albert "Neil" Cornelius Shaw II

Albert "Neil" Cornelius Shaw, II went home to be with God on Thursday, May 13, 2021. Albert was born on January 12, 1961, from the union of Albert Cornelius Shaw and Frances Hayes-Shaw. He was the youngest of six children.

Albert gave all his love to his devoted wife, Terra Mae Shaw, whom he married on February 13, 1994.  During their twenty-seven years of marriage, they raised their son Brandon Lewis O'Neal Shaw. 

Growing up in a God-loving household, Albert accepted God as his Savior and Jesus Christ at a young age at Newman AME Church in Pontiac, Michigan.

While attending Pontiac Northern High School, he was a star running back on the football team. He graduated from Pontiac Northern High School in 1979, then joined the United States Navy and was honorably discharged after four years of service.  During his years in service, Albert obtained specialized training that he was able to transition into a civilian job with the Department of the Air Force and Department of the Navy. Albert retired from Naval Air Depot (NAPED) as an Aircraft Safety Engineer Technician. After retirement, he explored entrepreneurship by selling cars.

After his years serving in the US Navy, he decided to go to college. He attended Cuyahoga Community College in Ohio, Norfolk State University, and Liberty University in Virginia.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Frances Shaw, and sisters, Theresa Long and Millicent Northen.

Albert leaves to cherish his kindness and love, wife, Terra; son, Brandon; sisters, Karen Cain (Joseph) and Tanya Anderson; brother, Phillip Shaw; mother-in-law, Cornelius Mae Franklin; sister-in-law Bonnie Brooks (Anthony); brothers-in-law, Willie Franklin, Jr. (Karen), Joel Franklin (Barbara), and Numan Franklin (Patricia); a host of devoted aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 2021, at Whiting's Funeral Home.  Burial with military honors will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at Quantico National Cemetery.
