Alden Maxine Cumber, 87, was called to her heavenly home on Saturday, March 9, 2020, at the Anderson Mill Health and Rehabilitation Center, in Powder Springs, Georgia. She was born on September 14, 1932, daughter of the late Zachary R. and Lucy Christian Adkins, in Charles City, Virginia. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Cumber and sisters, Ora Ghee and Doris Greene.
Maxine accepted Christ at an early age and began her spiritual journey at New Vine Baptist Church. She remained a faithful member until her passing.
Maxine was a longtime resident of Williamsburg, Virginia before relocating to Powder Springs, Georgia six years ago. She retired from Williamsburg Community Hospital, as a Dietician after several years of service.
Her loving memories will forever be cherished by her two cousins, Lisa Christian, her devoted caregiver, and Pamela Christian-Wilson; three nieces, Barbara Brown (Michael), Hattie "Andy" Cameron, and Connie Ghee Taliaferro; three nephews, George Jr. (Betty), Benjamin (Chandra) and Elliott Ghee; godchildren, Derrell Bassett, Sharon Maxine Brown, and Steven Bradby Jr.; best friend, Delores Brown; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.
Due to the current health pandemic, a memorial service will be announced at a later date. Please keep the family in your prayers.
