On Saturday, September 11, 2021, Alice C. Hardy-Miller 53, sadly transitioned into eternal rest. She was born and raised in Delaware to the late Columbus Hardy Sr. and Alice Hardy on June 29, 1968.
She made a name for herself and was known as “Little Alice.” Later in life, she traveled quite a bit but eventually settled in Virginia. While in Virginia Alice met Milton Miller, and on March 31, 1999, they joined in holy matrimony. Alice loved Milton very much, and he indeed was her king. She enjoyed their car rides, visiting different restaurants, and ordering take-out Chinese food. She loved when they both posed for the camera with their shades on in the car. Not only was he the love of her life but her family was as well. She adored her grandbabies and loved giving them hugs and kisses; they could do no wrong in her eyes.
Alice took great pleasure in cooking for her family and friends. She enjoyed fishing and crabbing with her husband and children. She liked to hang out and bowl with her sister and brother-in-law and had daily phone calls with her other sister. She also enjoyed road trips, couponing, and modeling for photos and videos with her daughter, son in law and grandchildren. She had fun joking and playing around with her nieces and nephews and looking at her new grandbaby on video calls.
Alice was full of laughter and love. She spread joy throughout her job as a home health aide and loved assisting the elderly. She gave her life to the Lord and served on the Pastor's Aide committee at church striving to make it to Heaven. Alice opened her home to those in need and made sure those around her were taken care of. She was truly loved and will be greatly missed.
Alice was preceded in death by one brother, two sisters, her grandmother, and two grandchildren. She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Milton Miller; sons, Ervin Hardy (Becky), Curtis Hardy (Capathia), and Earl Hardy; daughters, La Tayna Rice (Tyjuan), and Earlisha Coleman; mother, Alice Hardy; sisters, Charlette Banks (David) and Justina Hardy; brother, Columbus Hardy Jr. (Paula); sixteen grandchildren; godchildren; nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Whiting's Funeral Home. Facial coverings and social distancing are required.
