Alma L. Travers

Our beloved, loved one, Mother Alma L. Travers, departed peacefully on August 2, 2025, at Portside Health and Rehab Center in Portsmouth, VA. Alma was born on August 15, 1947, in Virginia.

She was a member of Bethel Restoration Center in Williamsburg, VA, and attended faithfully until her health started to decline. She worked for James City County as a mail clerk for 25 years.

Alma was preceded in death by her husband Fredrick S. Travers; mother Bessie A. Harris; father Clarence E. Jones; sisters, Viola R. Jones and Selicia E. Robertson; grandson Kamden K. Braxton; nephew Everette L. Marsh Sr; and special friend Barbara Piggott.

She leaves to cherish her memories, daughters Kecia M. Jones, and Angela A. Brown (Lynn); sons, Carl T. Logan and Warren A. Logan; grandchildren Rakecia Jones, Eddie Hargrove, Myeshia Vartuli, Destiny Jones, Chasity Johnson, Katia Pressey, Shakira Brown, Kameron Logan, Aaron Walker, eleven great-grand children; brothers, James P. Marsh, Clarence M. Jones (Kim), Kelly O. Jones (Vicki ), and Clarence M. Berkeley; special cousin and wife, Morris and Valerie Matthews; special sisters-in-laws the Travers’s and the Logan’s; special friend Barbara Wise Ruttley; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service to celebrate Alma's life will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Bethel Restoration Center, with a viewing beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Williamsburg Memorial Park.
