Anna Marie Stovall, affectionately known as "Shirley," was born on July 17, 1938, in South Boston, VA. She was the daughter of the late Roy and Ethel Mae Wilkerson Stovall.
She graduated from South Boston High School. In her youth, Anna developed a love Jesus Christ. She was a dedicated and active member of the Mother’s Board at St. John Church of God in Christ in Newport News, VA.
She is preceded in death by her son James Stovall and brother Leroy Stovall.
Anna is survived by her son, Antonio Stovall (Lorraine) of Toano, VA; two grandsons, Brian Stovall and Antonio Stovall, Jr.; sister-in-law, Christine Stovall of South Boston, VA; niece, Vanessa Lovelace (Gary) of New Jersey; nephew, Cedric Stovall (Cynthia) of South Boston, VA; and a host of grandnieces, grandnephews, other loving relatives, and friends.
A funeral service to celebrate Anna's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 16, 2024, in St. John Church of God in Christ. Interment to follow in Dan River View Baptist Church Cemetery, South Boston, VA. Ms. Stovall may be viewed in the church on Friday beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the hour of her service.
