Anthony Thigpen Sr. Obituary
On Wednesday, October 7, 2020, God called home our beloved son, father, brother, and uncle, Anthony Adare Thigpen Sr. He was born on August 14, 1955, one of four children born to the late Elver J. and Mary L. Thigpen, in Birmingham, Alabama.
Anthony enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving his country for three years. Upon returning home, he became a long-distance truck driver; recently retiring.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory two sons, Anthony A. Thigpen Jr. “Lil Tony” and Abdula McClain “Pea Head”; grandchildren; three devoted sisters, Linda J. Thigpen of Hampton Va., Teresa A. Thigpen of Newport News Va. and Debbie L. Thigpen of Hampton Va.; special friend, Vanessa Williamson; and a host of nephews, nieces, and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 19, 2020, at Whiting's Funeral Home.
