On Monday, August 10, 2020, God sent one of His angels to bring home for eternal rest our beloved Anthony C. Walker. He answered the Master’s call and slipped into a peaceful sleep.
Anthony was educated in the Williamsburg-James City County Public schools. He retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation.
Tony, as he was affectionately called by those who loved him, was a kind and loving person. He was always willing to lend a hand to someone in need. Although he had no children of his own, he was a father figure to his nieces and nephews; especially to his nephew “BJ”.
Anthony was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria M. Jones; stepfather, Leroy Jones; and youngest brother, Christopher Jones. His memories will forever be cherished by his father, Carl Berkley (Viola); four brothers, Bruce Walker (Michelle), Antonio Walker (Jearl), Leslie Berkley and Stanley Berkley; two sisters, Lamonica Randall (Michael) and Carla Berkley; two uncles, Floyd Jefferson (Josiphine) and Kenneth Berkley; three aunts, Virginia Berkley, Mary Berkley, and Bernice Lett; eighteen nieces and nephews; ten great-nieces and nephews; two special cousins, Wanda Palmer and Gary Delaney; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Mr. Walker may be viewed from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at Whiting’s Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, August 19, 2020, at Whiting’s Chapel. Due to the current health pandemic on 50 people can be in attendance. Face coverings and social distance are required.
