On Wednesday, December 3, 2025, the Lord called our beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Arthur Lightfoot, home to be with Him. His life began on November 9, 1929, as the son of the late Maggie Lightfoot.
At an early age, Arthur confessed Christ as his personal Savior and joined Saint John Baptist Church, Toano, Virginia.
On January 18, 1950, he was united in holy matrimony to the former Florence L. Jones. This union was blessed with six loving children and many years of happiness.
Later in life, Arthur started his business collecting trash from clients in the surrounding neighborhoods. He also operated his own car lot for several years.
He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Arthur was preceded in death by his wife, Florence L. Lightfoot; three sons, Gaylon Lightfoot, Webster Lightfoot, and David Lightfoot; and his daughter, Barbara Parker.
Arthur leaves to cherish his fond memories, his daughter Sandra Holmes (Walter); son Alton Lightfoot Sr. (Audrey); fifteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Beatrice Lightfoot, Corliss Lightfoot, and Theresa Lightfoot; son-in-law James Parker; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 12, 2025, at Whiting's Funeral Home with a viewing beginning at noon.
Professional services have been entrusted to the staff of Whiting's Funeral Home, 7005 Pocahontas Trail, Williamsburg, Virginia 23185. 757-229-3011 whitingsfuneralhome.com
