Audrey “Tiny” Newman quietly entered the gates of Heaven on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Newport News Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Newport News, VA. She was born on July 25, 1959, to the late Robert R. and Helen D. Charity.
Audrey accepted Christ at an early age and joined Parrish Hill Baptist Church.
Audrey attended the Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind in Hampton, Virginia, and graduated from the Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind in Staunton, Virginia.
Audrey worked for Anthem BlueCross BlueShield and the Charles City County Public Schools as a custodian.
Her father, Robert Charity; and her grandparents preceded her in death.
Audrey’s memories will forever remain in the hearts of her devoted mother Helen Charity; two devoted sisters, Sharon Charity-Brown and Tina Charity (Steve); two brothers, Roger Charity Sr. (Tina) and William Charity (Sandra); niece, who she helped raise, Keirra Charity; nephews, Antwan Charity (Cindy) who Audrey also helped raise, Roger Charity Jr., Steven Charity Sr. (Janice), and Natshawn Charity; loving aunts, Hattie Brooks, Julia White, Ernestine Bassett, Delois Richards, Dorothy Brown, Francine Brooks, and Barbara Smith; loving uncles, William Christian (Jean) and James Christian (Sylvia) ; and a host of cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Parrish Hill Baptist Church. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Newman may be viewed in the church on Saturday beginning at 1:00 p.m.
