He was preceded in death by his loving grandmother, Carletha McCray; grandfather, Lavern Smalls; great-grandparents, James McCray Sr. (Dr. Love) and Vanessa Anne McCray; and cousin Camarrie Holmes.

He leaves to cherish his forever memories his parents, Vernon and Kaleighja Rivers-McCray; siblings, Shaheita Anderson, Nicholas and Tonya Ferguson, Courtney Rivers, Demonica Riley, Vaughn Anderson, Jakayla Rivers-McCray, Vernon Rivers “VJ”, and Vanessa Rivers-McCray; uncles, James McCray III, Shamar McCray, James McCray IV, Hosea McCray, Randy McCray, Semaj McCray, Keven Saunders, and Antonio Smalls; aunts, Keeya McDuffie, Monique Sanders, and Destinee Cox; grandparents, James McCray Jr., and Vernice Smalls; great-grandparents, Herbert Moore and Alvene Anderson; great-aunts and uncles, Felicia and Brian Williams, Lakeisha Anderson, Michael Minkins, and Herbert “TJ” Anderson; dear family friend, Latrice Boyce; and a host of cousins.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Whiting's Funeral Home.
