“And the peace of God which suppresses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”    Philippians 4:7

Carl Leroy Scales Sr. was born on February 11, 1933, to the late Joseph Benjamin and Ella Rea Scales, Eckman, West Virginia.  On March 14, 2023, God’s angels beckoned him home to his final resting place of peace.

On January 20, 2004, He received the right hand of fellowship at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. Leroy, affectionately called “Turk,” was always there to assist his church family as well as his community with a willing and considerate heart. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
