Carlton Lee "Baldhead" Williams

On June 19, 2019, Mr. Carlton Lee "Baldhead" Williams, entered into the gates of Heaven, to celebrate his 71st birthday with his heavenly Father.  His life began on June 19, 1948, son of the late Charles Williams and Mattie L. Jones, of Williamsburg, Virginia.

At an early age, Carlton placed his faith and trust in the Lord and joined Zion Baptist Church, Lightfoot, where he was baptized.  Later in life, he joined hands in fellowship with Bethel Restoration Center.  He proudly served his church in the Transportation Ministry and was a greeter.

Carlton received his education in the Williamsburg-James City County schools; after which he joined the Job Corp in West Virginia.  While in Job Corp, he trained to be a chef.  In 2001, he retired from the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation.  After retiring, he worked in the Catering Department at the College of William & Mary and also catered private events.  He was recently employed with Owens-Illinois by ABM Industries.

In 1976, Carlton married the former Carolyn Brown.  They shared over thirty years of marital bliss until her passing in 2007.

Carlton loved cooking, music, and dancing; he staying on the dance floor for hours at a time.  He loved cooking for family and friends.  Every time you saw "Baldhead" he either had an encouraging word for you or had a joke to make you laugh.  He will truly be missed by his family and friends.

He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Charles, and Albert, and three grandchildren, Angel, Jerome, Jr, and Destiny.  His precious memories will forever remain with his children, Ronald L. Cowles (Fredricia) and Lori A. Williams-Wright; grandchildren, LaRhonda, Janee, Janeice, and Terrell (Meka); great-grandchildren, Chassity, Maihi, Mahir, Delianna, and McKenzie; devoted nieces and nephew, Shirley, Maxine, and Charles Jr.; devoted friend, Elsie Smith; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

A service celebrating his life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2019, in Bethel Restoration Center, with Bishop John Gray, Sr., officiating.  Interment to follow in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.  Mr. Williams may be viewed in the church only beginning at 11:00 until the hour of his service.
