Jubilee Crowned in Glory: The Life of Charlene Jones
It is with saddened hearts and weeping eyes that we announce the ascension of Charlene Jones to the heavenly realms on April 21, 2026. Charlene Jones, 64, was born on Saturday, August 26, 1961, to Cora and the late David Jones of Williamsburg, Virginia. She was born into a family of ten with six brothers, David, Richard, Ronnie Jones Sr., Ronnie Saunders, the late Wardell, and the late Nathaniel; and three sisters, Evelyn, Pamela, and the late Barbara.
She found love with Reginald E. Evans Jr. while in high school and welcomed her first child, Reginald Jones, in the fall of 1978; followed by Anthony Jones in 1979; and Twanita Lassiter in 1982. Through her children, she was blessed with a son-in-love, Kevin Lassiter, and eleven grandchildren, Reginald, the late Anthony, Trezure, A'Taya, Taniyah, Asharia, Nykeya, Marjorie, Jahaad, Samantha, and Kevin. From her grandchildren, she was blessed to witness the births of three great-granddaughters, Amara, Es'Marie, and Amaya, all of whom carry on her legacy of love. Charlene also leaves behind her beloved uncle, Frank Gray, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Love was never lacking and always in abundance throughout her adult life. Charlene attracted and radiated love like rays of sunshine. Her natural abilities in leadership and her maternal instincts touched the lives of family, friends, colleagues, and strangers alike. In her presence, strangers became friends, and friends became family.
A homegoing ceremony for Charlene Jones will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Whiting's Funeral Home. Interment to follow in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery. Ms. Jones may be viewed beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the hour of her service.
Professional services have been entrusted to the staff of Whiting's Funeral Home, 7005 Pocahontas Trail, Williamsburg, Virginia 23185. 757-229-3011 whitingsfuneralhome.com
