On Saturday, June 4, 2022, God called our beloved Charlene Morris into eternal rest. Her life began on August 23, 1960, the daughter of Alice D. Morris and the late Stevenson L. Morris of New Kent County, Virginia.
She was educated in the New Kent County School System. At an early age, she gave her life to Christ, was baptized, and became a member of Second Elam Baptist Church. She was an avid Washington Commanders fan (formerly the Washington Redskins).
Charlene retired from the York County Public School System as an Aide on the bus. At the time of her death, she was working as a Home Healthcare Aide (CNA) with the Environmental Healthcare Association.
She was also preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, George N. Washington, Sr.; paternal grandparents, Luke and Sarah Morris; and brother, Antoine Wynn. She leaves to cherish her memories, her mother, Alice D. Morris; sisters, Sarah Brown, Felecia Morris, and Natashia Wynn; brothers, Stevenson Morris, Bryant Morris, and Terrence Morris; maternal grandmother, Maude L. Washington; aunts, Joyce Jackson and Anne Pearl; uncles, Alphonso Washington, Ronald Washington (Linda), Lorenzo Washington (Sherry), Kevin Washington, and Walter Morris (Mildred); special friends, Valerie Bennafeld and Terry Cooke; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives, and many caring friends.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Whiting's Funeral Home. Livestream will be available at the beginning of the service. Interment to follow in Second Elam Baptist Church Cemetery. Ms. Morris may be viewed from 10:00 a.m. until noon on Tuesday in the funeral home. Facial coverings are required.
