Charles Luther Burch, affectionately known as “CB,” lived a life defined by love, service, and quiet strength. He peacefully transitioned to eternal rest on February 6, 2026, at the age of 75.
For many years, CB faithfully served the community through his work with the Williamsburg Area Transit Authority, where he worked in several roles, including bus driver, supervisor, and ticket agent. No matter the position, he showed up with dedication, pride, and a genuine care for people.
He was also a proud and active member of the American Legion Post 67, where he valued brotherhood, service, and the importance of giving back.
CB's greatest joy was his family. He deeply loved and adored his devoted wife, Audrey, who was the center of his world. CB was a proud, beloved dad to Nicol, Frederick, and Genola. To them — and to the grandchildren — he was a steady presence, a source of wisdom, love, and quiet support.
He was simply a good man — kind, dependable, respected, and loved by all who crossed his path.
CB was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Georganna Burch. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Audrey Clark Burch; a loving circle of children, Nicol Hamlin, Frederick Williams, and Genola Burch; six grandchildren; sister Ann Whitaker; his American Legion brothers; closest friend Findolph Taylor; and a host of family, friends, and all whose lives were better because of him.
CB's life was a blessing. His memory will be treasured always, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A service to celebrate CB's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2026, in Whiting's Funeral Home, with a viewing beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Professional services have been entrusted to the staff of Whiting's Funeral Home, 7005 Pocahontas Trail, Williamsburg, Virginia 23185. 757-229-3011 whitingsfuneralhome.com
