Charles Edward Chandler Sr. peacefully entered into eternal rest on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at his home in Williamsburg, VA. He was born on September 2, 1939, to the late Edwin and Elizabeth Chandler.
He attended Bruton Heights School in Williamsburg, VA. Shortly thereafter, he began a long career as a cook throughout the Williamsburg and James City County areas. He loved to fish at his favorite fishing spots. Amongst his many friends he was considered “Mr. Fixit’, because of his ability as a great handyman.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Cordelia; son, Charles Edward Chandler Jr. (Cheyenne); daughter, Vicki Johnson; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mary O. Wormley; godson, Devron “Man-Man” Jimmerson; childhood friend, Charles Herbert Jimmerson; a special (adopted) grandson, Raymond “Scoot” Coles; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 27, 2021, in Whiting’s Funeral Home. Facial coverings are required.
