Charles C. Spruell Jr.

On Wednesday, July 3, 2024, Charles C. Spruell Jr. departed this life. He was born on October 2, 1958, to Lou Elizabeth and Charles C. Spruell Sr., in Charles City, VA.

Affectionately known as "June," "Juicy," or "Lue’s June," he was a veteran of the United States Army serving 5 years.  He later worked in the Maintenance Department at the Regency at Longhill Apartment Complex in Williamsburg for over fifteen years and Turk Enterprises for almost three years. He loved to work and shared his wisdom with anyone who would listen.  He missed his calling as a comedian, grill master, and gossip columnist.  Our son, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and dear friend was loved and gave more love.  He will wholeheartedly be missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles C. Spruell Sr. His loving memories will forever be cherished by his two sons, Charles Thomas (Rachel) of South Carolina and Antonio Spruell of Richmond, VA; four daughters, Tenisha Thomas, Rochelle Thomas, Sharnida Smith, (Devon), and Kelana Thomas, all of Newport News, VA; eight grandchildren; his mother Lue Elizabeth Spruell of Charles City, VA; three sisters, Vanessa B. Spruell-Fitzgerald (Robert) of Williamsburg, VA; Sherby-Jean Coles (John) of Charles City, VA, and Nicole Watts (Allester) of Prince George, VA; devoted special friend Carletha "Carla" Bowman; a host of nieces and nephews, other loving relatives, and caring friends.

A memorial service will be held at Noon on Thursday, July 11, 2024, Whiting’s Funeral Home.  Family and friends will gather after the service at Golden Corral, 218 Bypass Road, Williamsburg, VA.
