Charles Leon Wooten went on his journey to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 5, 2020, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He was born on August 12, 1970, the only son born to the union of Dorothy and the late Charles R. Wooten, of Williamsburg, Virginia.
Charles was educated in the Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools and later attended Fayetteville High School. He was employed with WorkForce Unlimited where he was a successful machine operator.
Charles was very hardworking, funny, and would take his last to do anything for anyone in need. He would do side jobs like cutting trees, yard work, power washing houses, and painting. He enjoyed playing NBA 2K on his game system, basketball, and other outdoor activities.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Obediah and Irene Gray; sister, Darlene Wooten; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bettie and Willie Hardin Sr. Charles leaves precious memories with his loving wife, Bonnie L. Wooten, of Davidson County, North Carolina; lovely mother, Dorothy Jenkins, of Davidson County, North Carolina; son, Charles Wooten Jr, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; daughters, Quamara Marsh, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Shaylia Wooten, of South Carolina, Kaylia Wooten, of South Carolina, Bianca Parker, of Newport News, Virginia, Nayla Wooten, of Walnut Cove, North Carolina; granddaughter, Heaven Marsh; step-children, Latisha Hardin, Tamika Hardin, and Marcus Hardin, all of Lexington, North Carolina; twelve step-grandchildren; three nieces, Aeryona Jones, Angela Wooten, and Brittany Wooten, all of Williamsburg, Virginia; nephew, Marcus Wooten, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; three uncles, Jimmy Walker, Obey Gray, and George Walker, all of Williamsburg, Virginia; lovely aunt, Cell Gray; brother-in-law, Willie Hardin Jr., of Lexington, North Carolina; sisters-in-law, Phylis Mason, Francis Pearson, and Willa Hardin; and a host of loving cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon Tuesday, March 10, 2020, in Whiting’s Chapel. Family and friends to assemble at the funeral home by 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. Mr. Wooten may be viewed on Tuesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the hour of his service.
