On June 1, 2022, God came quietly and called our beloved Nuck home. He was born on October 28, 1959, the son of the late Jerry Hamilton and Georgia Braxton.
Clarence was educated in the Williamsburg-James City County public schools. He worked as a cook at IHOP and many other restaurants in the Williamsburg and Gloucester areas. He also was the manager of a Texaco service station.
Clarence enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed watching wrestling and taped them so he would not miss an episode. Back in the day, he was one heck of a DJ. He played at Fat Jackson's and other juke joints and yard parties in the area.
He was predeceased by his son, Elston Deon Brown and sister, Arleen Clayton. His memories will be cherished by his wife, Yvonne Bartlett Hamilton, who he affectionately called Madea; sons, Tremaine Braxton and Antonio Hamilton (Nicole); daughters, Jenay Hamilton (Meek), Iesha Stafford, Treka Braxton, Tamekio Braxton, Kabri Young, and Kachae Cooke; godmother, Laura Cowles; special grandchildren, King and Chance; a host of other loving grandchildren; special mothers-in-law, Wanda Powell and Doris Edwards; loving and devoted sister and caregiver, Geraldine Payne (Charles); brothers, Bobby Brown, Charles Brown (Anne), and Jerry Hamilton (Hester); brothers-in-law, Stanley Bartlett (Tongi), Johnny Bartlett (Cary), and Joseph Bartlett (Chante); sisters-in-law, Vanessa Bartlett, Joyce Ashby, and Tracy Bartlett; special nephews, Carlos Brown, Vermont Hamilton, and Ronald "Deke" Lassiter; great-nephew, Zoyran Lassiter; special niece, Carla Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and caring friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2022, in Whiting's Funeral Home. Facial coverings are required.
