Constanza Dillard transitioned from labor to reward on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, in Riverside Doctors’ Hospital, Williamsburg. Affectionately known as Connie, she was born on March 24, 1959, to the union of Shirley and Douglas Marshall Dillard.
At an early age, she accepted Christ into her life and became a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Later in life, she joined hands in fellowship with Rising Sun Baptist Church in Lackey, VA.
Connie was educated in the York County Public School System and was a 1978 graduate of Bruton High School. She continued her education and attended Keys Business College and Thomas Nelson Community College. Connie was employed by Hope-In Home Care in Newport News, VA.
Connie was a loving and respectful daughter who loved to read. She was also a great conversationalist and loved to talk. Connie carried on a conversation with everyone she came in contact with.
Connie was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Roy and Edna Bailey; parental grandparents, Iris Dillard and Richard Gilliam; and brothers, Keith and Bryon Dillard.
A loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend Connie leaves to cherish her precious memories daughter, Stephanie; sons, Brandon and Bradley; mother, Shirley Dillard; father, Douglas Marshall Dillard (Leslie); brothers, Larry and Kelvin; father of her children, Ronnie Cowles; and a host of other relatives and friends who were an important part of Connie's life.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 23, 2021, at Whiting’s Funeral Home. Livestream will be available at the beginning of the service. Ms. Dillard may be viewed beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the hour of her service on Saturday. Facial coverings are required at all services.
