Corey Constentine Brown was born September 15, 1977, in Newport News, VA, to Pamela Smith and Elton Thomas. He was raised by his parents and parental grandmother Virginia Fitz. He had a special son-like relationship with his adopted father, Michael Robinson. He transitioned from earth to heaven on April 19, 2022, at the age of forty-four.
He graduated from Lafayette High School in Williamsburg, VA. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served his country for many years. After his honorable discharge, he attended Thomas Nelson Community College, earning his degree in Electrical Engineering and becoming an entrepreneur. He was known for his excellent electrical work throughout the community.
Corey knew the Lord as he was reared up in the house of God by his loving grandmother Minister Virginia Fitz. Corey was a devoted father, son, brother, and loving uncle. He loved to be around his family, and he always had something to say that would make you laugh. He will be remembered for his kind spirit and positive attitude.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Pernell and Winnie, and paternal grandfather, Horace. He leaves to cherish his precious memories his children, Isaiah and Alayzia; mother, Pamela (Alvin); father, Elton; paternal grandmother, Virginia (Willie); adopted father, Michael; brothers, Tyrone, Danyel, and Alton Jr.; sisters, Dawanaca, Kimberly, Latrice, LeKendra, and Arie; six aunts and seven uncles; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service will be held at noon Thursday, April 28, 2022, in Whiting’s Funeral Home. Livestream will be available at the beginning of the service. Interment with military honors to follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Mr. Brown may be viewed from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Facial coverings are required for all services.
