Corine Whiting

Early Monday morning, December 5, 2022, God picked one of the most beautiful flowers from his earthly garden; our beloved Corine Whiting.  She entered this world on August 24, 1934, daughter of the late Joseph and Bessie Smith Crump.

At an early age, Corine joined New Elam Baptist Church.  She graduated from All-Girls High School in New York.  Corine later graduated from BeAle's Beauty College.  After completing beauty college, she was employed with Herdens Beauty Shop and later was self-employed as a beautician.

Corine was also preceded in death by her sisters, Lillie Burrell and Aretha Woodson; brothers, Robert Crump and Bernard Crump.  Her precious memories will forever be cherished by he loving son George L. Whitings; grandchildren, Sherry James, Shanda Piggott, Martine Joyner (Kyle), Chantony Whiting, and Tashia Nixen-Williams (Timothy); ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Mahalia Crump and Gladys Johnson; brother, Thomas Crump Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives, and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2022, at New Elam Baptist Church with Dr. Morris L. Randall Sr. officiating.  Interment to follow in the church cemetery.  Ms. Whiting may be viewed on Saturday beginning at noon until the time of her service in the church.
