Dale C. Evans was born on March 11, 1962, in Pittsburgh, PA to Robert Roland Evans and Estell Evans. Dale was a wonderful husband, son, brother, father, and papa to his family. Dale went to his eternal homecoming on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at his home, after a thirteen-month battle with cancer.
Dale attended South Hills High School in Pittsburgh PA in 1980. He received a football scholarship and excelled in track and field.
Dale moved to Virginia in 1983. On October 4, 1985, Dale married Benita L. Evans of Williamsburg, VA. This union was blessed with thirty-eight years and seven months of unity and one daughter Candace Nicole Evans.
Dale worked at the Williamsburg Pottery for five years. After leaving The Pottery Dale worked at Marriott Manor Club in Williamsburg, VA as a Maintenance Tech III for 16 years.
Dale was baptized and joined Zion Baptist Church in Lightfoot. The love of his life next to God and his children were his grandchildren, Gray, Daelyn, and Tylajah, whom he raised for 18 years.
Dale is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Estell Grey Evans; brothers, Wilma Evans and Billy Evans; and sister Debra Lynn Evans.
Dale is also survived by his wife Benita Evans; daughter Candace Evans; son Dale Tyler of Pittsburgh, PA; two grandsons; two granddaughters; two great-grandkids; brother Anthony Evans of San Fransico, California; sisters, Susan Keasley (Oscar) of Pittsburgh, PA, Carrie Parker of Southfield, MI, and Carlette Evans of Pittsburgh, PA; mother-in-law Irene Wells; two stepsons, Sheldon Crew El, and Delmon Crew El; special granddaughter Inndia Crew; special caregiver Karen Frazier Bey; sisters-in-law, Connie Crew, Krystal Jefferson (Wyndell), and Hilda Graham (George); brothers-in-law, Arthur Crew (Paula), Donald Crew (Rita), and Anthony Wells; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
All services for Mr. Evans will be private.
