I’ve Done My Best
I did my best when I was there
I am at my best now that I am here.
I have no more pain, worries, or fears
I will never shed another tear,
I am with my Master forever after
Remember me always with smiles and laughter.
In God’s word, everything has a season, and on Sunday, January 8, 2023, God called our beloved grandmother, Delores “LP” Perrin, for eternal rest as her season came to pass. Her life’s journey began on December 7, 1946, in York County, the daughter of the late Robert E. Perrin Sr. and Annie Lewis Perrin.
She attended James Weldon Johnson School and went on to work many years for the York County Public Schools Division, where she eventually retired after nineteen years of service. She was a member of the York Angels Softball Team and an avid supporter of the York Stars. “LP,” as she was affectionately called, had such a special and giving way about her. She was truly one of a kind. The love for her family was apparent by all who knew her. She was famously known as “Rack and Sack Them” (LOL). We are thankful to God for the many years he allowed us to share with her. We know that our loss is Heaven’s gain, and she will never suffer again.
Delores was preceded in death by her sons, Theodore “Teddy” Perrin and Quinton Perrin; siblings, Lillie Mae Pierce, Joyce T. Perrin, Patricia “Pat” Dennis, Annie Spriggs, Sarah R. Lewis, Robert E. Perrin, Harry Perrin, Theodis Perrin, and Clarence Perrin.
She leaves to cherish her memories her grandchildren, Quindra Fenton-Ward (Tyrence), Quintel Vallien, and Quinton Perrin II; great-grandchildren, Quinshon Perrin, Tymirah Ward, Tyrence Ward Jr., Tyller Ward, Mia Vallien, and Brayden Vallien; sisters, Elsie Chandler, Maggie Carter, Juanita Carter (John) and Vatrice Sessions; brothers, Charles Perrin, Timothy Perrin and Kenneth Perrin; bonus sister, Thelma Kirby; special nieces, Queenella Gray and Joan Holloway (Mark); special daughter, Deadra “Dee Dee” Fenton; best friends, Jackie Evans, Tonya Savage and Monica Flowers; and a host of loving relatives and many caring friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2023, at Grafton Baptist Church-Harris Grove. Livestream will be available at the beginning of the service. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. Ms. Perrin may be viewed from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Facial coverings are required for all services.
