Diane Cheryl Banks

Diane Cheryl Banks peacefully answered the Master’s call on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, in Riverside Regional Medical Center, surrounded by family.  She was born on January 6, 1950, in York County, Virginia.

She was educated in the York County Public School System and later was employed with Nick’s Seafood Pavilion, retiring in 2003 after 30 years of service.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Alberta Louise Banks, and father, Sam Diggs; brothers, Fred Banks Jr., Rodney Banks, Clifford Banks, and Michael Banks; two sisters, Sharon Hudson and Shelia Banks.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Karen Cox and Marceline Banks; son, Robert Banks; two granddaughters, Keisha Banks and A’Keilah Banks; grandson, Maunta Banks; great-grandchildren, Masia, Zion, Jihad, Jakari, Elijah, Zymere, Quran, Ameen, Zamari, Zyeia, and Prince; two loving sisters, Louise Pharr and Ruth Walker; loving brothers, Whelton Banks and Larry Diggs; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family & friends.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon Friday, September 3, 2021, at Whiting’s Funeral Home.  Livestream will be available at the beginning of the service.  Ms. Banks may be viewed on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Facial coverings are required at all services.
