Dianne Wise

On Thursday, May 27, 2021, surrounded by her family the pearly gates opened and Dianne Wise was blessed with her heavenly wings.  Affectionately known as Baby Sis, Dianne was born on November 17, 1966, to the late Elsie Mae and Elbert Wise Jr.

At an early age, Dianne accepted Jesus Christ as her Personal Savior and joined St. John Baptist Church, Toano, Virginia.  She attended the Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools.  Later in life, she met and married Lonnie Parker Sr. and they began a family.  She was employed with MV Transportation for many years until her health prevented her from doing so. 

Baby Sis was a loving, caring, hard-working, loyal, determined, and humorous woman who could bring a smile to anyone's face.  She will be greatly missed.

Dianne leaves to cherish fond and loving memories, her fiancé, Lawrence Sykes, children, Shawnte Wilson (Xavier), Lonnie Parker Jr. (Alexis), Shawnese Savage (Christopher) Lakeeta Owens, Tiffany White, Daniel Bethea, and James Bethea; grandchildren, AmierJahnaya , Shacorey, Joziah, Adora, Okayee, Elaina, Ameia, Preston, Sade, Da'Quan, Carter, Trinity, Kyra, Kamani, Kaniya, Christopher Jr., Cameron, Lanay, Shaniell, Aniyah, and Semaj; brother, Elbert “Junnie” Wise III; two nephews, Corey and Maurice Cutler; sister, Joyce Ruddley; two best friends, Priscilla Mcswain and Pamela Smith; favorite cousin, Yolanda Jones; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2021, at Little Zion Baptist Church with a viewing beginning at 11:00 a.m.    The service is limited to 50 people in attendance with facial coverings and social distancing.  Livestream will be available at the beginning of the service.
