On Friday evening, September 4, 2020, heaven gained another angel.  Doris Viola Taylor passed away at home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born December 26, 1942, in Toano, VA to the late Tunis Taylor Sr. and Pearl Brown Taylor.  Doris was the oldest of six. She was preceded in death by her three brothers, Tunis Taylor Jr. "Butch", Paul Taylor, and Ronald Taylor.

Doris graduated with the Class of 1961 from Bruton Heights High School in Williamsburg, VA. She retired from the Williamsburg- James City County Public School System. Doris enjoyed working with children. She especially loved to bake her pound cakes, which many people grew to love.

A life-long member of Chickahominy Baptist Church, where she served as a Deacon.  She was a devoted servant of the Lord and continually praised him.

On August 12, 1961, Doris was united in holy matrimony to Osborne Taylor Sr. They enjoyed 59 years of happiness together. Some of her favorite moments were vacations to Nags Head with Os. They would sit on the balcony together and watch the dolphins and eat seafood. We praise God for the life she lived and the lives she touched!
