Earl Randall Obituary

On 26 February 1962, Earl Mertee Randall was born to the late Helen Viola and Willie Earl Randall Jr.

He attended Lafayette High School and graduated with a General Education Diploma.  T-Earl accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized at St John Baptist Church, Toano, VA.   He later rededicated his life at My Father’s House Apostolic Church, Summerton, SC.  As an adult, he learned many trades throughout his journey, from electrical to plumbing to carpentry, vehicle/appliance mechanics, landscaping, and machinist.  His most notable skills, to those that knew him best, was in Culinary Arts, where he trained under the tutelage of Chef Marcel.  While in training, he learned cultural diversities, flavorings, plating, and design presentation.  The best place to be while T-Earl prepped meals was sitting next to him and being the taste tester.  His cooking allowed you to try new foods and challenge your palate.   He worked at many different companies throughout his life and always gave his best in whatever capacity he was needed.   He was employed at Dominion Packaging Company in Richmond, VA as a machinist.

“Tee” or “T-Earl”, as his family and friends affectionately called him, was always the life of the party.  As a child, he was full of mischief, laughter, and just plain fun.  If he had anything to give and you didn’t, then you wouldn’t have been without.   He loved music, dancing, cooking, laughing, and being with family.  Those ingredients made him forget about any worries he may have had.  Our loved one is gone, but the memory of his smile and laughter marinates in our soul as he dances and sings in our hearts.  T-Earl will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Cheryl D. Ashlock-Hunter and Annie Randall, three brothers, Willie V. Randall, Troy M. Randall, and Uyl V. Randall.

T-Earl was the father of LaKeisha Johnson of Arkansas and Earl Randall of Newport News.  He was privileged to have shared in the parenting of Tasha Ladd of Newport News.  He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, Areyona Freeman, J’mya Johnson, Keishia Coleman, Aviry and Malcolm Newton, and James and Hazel Stivers; four brothers, Steven Randall (Phyllis), Clarence Randall (Glorine), Melvin Randall (Dionne), and Allister Randall (Cheryce); six sisters, Iris O. Pittman, Beatrice R. Casado (Angel), Deadra M. Randall, Alicia L. Randall, Carrie Blount (Wallace), and Hazel Randall; five aunts, Katherine Cook, Isabelle Berkeley, Louise Dancy, Dora Kinchen (Rudy), and Muneerah Abdul-Musawir (Taswir); uncle, Arthur Lightfoot; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 2021, at Bethel Restoration Center with Dr. Morris L. Randall Sr. officiating. Facial coverings and social distancing required.  Livestream will be available at the start of the service.  Mr. Randall may be viewed from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
