It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eldon Monte Andrews, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, who left us peacefully on September 21, 2024. Eldon was born on August 1, 1989, to Quinton Jones Sr. and Teresa Andrews in Newport News, Virginia.
Eldon attended Newport News City Public Schools. His work ethic was forged in the warehouse industries, where he dedicated many years to Haynes Furniture Store.
Eldon was a man of diverse interests and talents. From a young age, he exhibited a remarkable inquisitiveness and love for music, qualities that would shape his journey through life. He had a passion for music and loved to rap. His stage name was “Killa E.” Eldon was also an avid gamer. Growing up, the neighborhood kids gave him the nickname “Jolly Green Giant.” He was known for his infectious smile and gentle heart. His personality and kindness made a lasting impact on people everywhere he went. Eldon will be remembered for his kindness, integrity, and unwavering love for his family and friends. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him. He will be deeply missed.
Eldon’s greatest joy was his family. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Larry "LB" Andrews Jr., Loren "LO" Javell Ransome, and Karlos Evans Andrews; grandmothers, Sally Ransome and Edwene Jones; and grandfather Alfred Melvin.
He is survived by his devoted mother Teresa Andrews of Newport News, Virginia; father Quinton Jones Sr. of Newport News, Virginia; special stepfather, Larry B. Andrews Sr. of Brooklyn, New York; loving sisters, Deirdre Smith (DeQuan) and Jada Gresham, both of Newport News, Virginia, Laretha S. Piggott (Hurley) of Staunton, Virginia, Sandra "Peaches" Fox and Courtney Andrews, both of Brooklyn, NY; brothers, Donnell Lee Andrews (Trina) and Quinton Jones Jr., both of Newport News, Virginia; friend, Stella Nelms and her mother Linda Nelson, whom he shared a special bond;
and a host of nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, aunts, uncles, and many friends.
A funeral service to celebrate Eldon's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Whiting's Funeral Home. Mr. Andrews may be viewed from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of his service in the chapel.
