Elizabeth Boyd

On Tuesday, February 18, 2025, our beloved Elizabeth Boyd went to her eternal home to be with the Lord. She was born to the late Isaac and Lillie Mae Lipkins on April 13, 1929.

She was united in marriage to the late Leman T. Boyd Sr. on January 12, 1954. To this union, five children were born.

Elizabeth concluded her career at Patrick Henry Nursing Home, where she dedicated years of service as a nurse’s aide. Following her official retirement, she continued to work as a private nurse. 

She was preceded in death by her sons, Leman Jr. and Clifton Boyd. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Ashley (Zelda) and Alton; daughter Gail; sister Mary Ivey; brother Richard Lipkins (Caroline); thirteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family who she loved dearly. 

Elizabeth showed her love by cooking and sharing a meal. She found joy in preparing a Sunday dinner with all the fixings. With no hesitation, she would prepare breakfast or supper for unexpected visitors with the same giving spirit. She loved seeing people have a hearty appetite and appreciation for down-home cooking. Her smile and unpretentious way made others feel welcomed. She was always ready to listen without judgement. 

We will all miss our mother, grandmother, sister, and auntie deeply. We can honor her life by living our lives surrendered to the Lord of Lords, loving family, and living with respect in all we do.

A funeral service will be held at Noon on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Whiting's Funeral Home. Mrs. Boyd may be viewed from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Saturday, February 22, 2025, in the funeral home.
