Erma Elizabeth (Jones) Druitt

Erma Elizabeth Jones Druitt entered The Masters Kingdom on Monday, November 13, 2023. Her life began on January 28, 1930, as the daughter of the late James Wesley and Gracie Lee Jones.
At an early age, Erma professed Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and was a faithful lifetime member of New Zion Baptist Church, Williamsburg VA, where she held several offices in various Church ministries. She was a member of the Senior Choir for over sixty years, The Voices of Zion, and the Missionary Ministry. She was in attendance almost every Sunday until her health declined.
Ms. Druitt retired from the Williamsburg/James City County Public School System after thirty-six years of service.
She was a dedicated wife and mother, and a spiritual and wise woman who loved the Lord and loved to sing to His glory. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Erma is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-seven years, Percell Darnell Druitt; son, Alpheus Percell Druitt; daughter, Shelly Elizabeth Druitt; brothers, Wesley Leroy Jones, William McKinnley Jones, and Herman Jones; and sisters, Francelia Piggott and Mary Louise Washington.
Her Legacy and precious memories will forever be honored and cherished by her children, Anthony Druitt (Millie) of Hampton, VA, Barbara Druitt and Dianne Druitt, both of Williamsburg VA, Lula Johnson (Gus) of Hampton, VA, and Shelia Druitt Ward (Terry) of Williamsburg, VA; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, fourteen great-great-grandchildren; one aunt, Alice Lee; two special nieces, Rev.Vera Horton and Katrice Lee (who was also a caretaker); two special nephews, Bishop Raymond Horton and Raymond Piggott; a special cousin who was like a sister to her, Elnora Jones; and a multitude of family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 20, 2023, at New Zion Baptist Church. Interment to follow in Williamsburg Memorial Park. Mrs. Druitt may be viewed in the church on Monday beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the hour of her service.
