Ernestine "Teenie" Vaughan

On Monday, November 2, 2020, in the presence of her children, God called home our beloved Ernestine “Teenie” Vaughan for eternal rest.  Her life’s journey began on July 13, 1944, to the union of the late Lucy and John W. Robertson Sr., of Williamsburg, Virginia.

A lifelong resident of Williamsburg, Teenie attended Bruton Heights School.  At a young age, she accepted Christ as her personal savior and joined Zion Baptist Church, Lightfoot.  She remained a faithful member until her health began to decline.

Teenie loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  She also loved watching her stories and other TV shows such as Chicago P.D. and Law and Order.  She really enjoyed rooting on her Pittsburgh Steelers.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Lemont T. Vaughan; loving daughter, Fren Robertson; two brothers, John W. Robertson Jr. and Freddie Robertson; and sister, Doris Walker.

Her wonderful and fond memories will forever remain with her children, Tyrus Robertson, William Robertson, and Lorna Robertson; grandson, Darius Robertson; great-grandchildren, Darius Robertson Jr., Davion Jones, and Jaliyah Jones; siblings, Carolyn Baker (Nathaniel), Cynthia McGilvary (Hugh), Vanessa Scales (Carl), Sharese Cowles (Donald), Clarine Bowman, Larry Robertson, Lawrence Robertson, James Robertson, Marcel Robertson, and Keith Robertson Sr. (Sherry); sisters-in-law, Marvette Russell and Lisa Russell; brother-in-law, Vincent Russell; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon Friday, November 13, 2020, at Whiting’s Chapel.  Due to the current health pandemic, only 50 people may be in attendance.  Face coverings and social distancing are required. Facebook Livestream will be available for this service.  A walk-through viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
