Eugene Ashby Jr. III

Eugene Ashby Jr. III, was born on September 28, 1979, to Eugene Ashby, Jr. II and Pilson Choi in San Francisco, CA. Eugene, also known as Junior by his loved ones and Gene by his friends, lived in Little Elm, TX, when he was called home to Heaven on June 9, 2021, at the tender age of 41.

Junior spent his youth growing up on both the East and the West coast. He spent time in San Francisco, CA, Vallejo, CA, Baltimore, MD, Williamsburg, VA, and, lastly, Little Elm, TX. The travel in his life as a child and a young man allowed him to be open to all people no matter what race or background you came from.

Junior started his career with Brand Scaffolding Services and worked for many scaffolding companies in California and Texas. He enjoyed his career, and through his prestige, skill set, and knowledge, he was allotted the opportunity to run different job sites in Texas. He was admired by his superiors and coworkers alike.

Junior always had a big heart. He would give you the shirt off his back if you were in need. As a loving, kind, warm, funny, child-like, and good-spirited person, if ever he saw one of his friends or family in need, he was right there to, give and support any way that he could, even if it meant he would go without. That's the heart that Eugene Ashby, Jr. III had and the heart he gave.

Junior is survived by the loves of his life; daughters, Amya Jadyn Jolie Ashby and Aliyah Larynn Ashby, both of Vallejo, CA; mother, Pilson Choi, a self-made business owner in Yongin, Seoul, Korea; father, Eugene Ashby Jr. II (Harriet), former Army Military; sister, Regina A. Ashby-Capule (Rob Jr.) of Vallejo, CA; nephews and niece Robbie, Roman, and Lalena Capule; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him so very much. He will be forever missed. In the words of his most favorite saying….

A memorial service will be held at noon Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at Whiting's Funeral Home.
