Evelyn Pierce Dandridge

Evelyn Pierce Dandridge, 84, entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 12, 2021, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 19, 1937, to the late Lloyd Seymore Pierce Sr and Loretha Byrd Pierce of James City County, Virginia.

Evelyn attended Bruton Heights School in James City County. She retired from Colonial Williamsburg after over 20 years of service. She was a faithful member of New Zion Baptist church.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Dandridge, and her first husband, Cornelius J. Carey Sr whom she shared eight children with. Her legacy will remain with her children, Deborah Carey Parker (Charles), Cornelius J. Carey Jr, Marvin G. Carey Sr, Eileen S. Cooper (Eric), Diane Williams (Michael deceased), Lisa Carey-Allen (Sylvester), Cheryl Carey, and Sandra Carey-Howard (Terry); and a host of other relatives and friends.

A Homegoing Celebration will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2021, in Whiting's Funeral Home, with a viewing beginning at 9:30 a.m. Livestream will be available at the beginning of the service.  Interment to follow in Williamsburg Memorial Park. Facial coverings are required for all services.
