On the morning of Sunday, June 8, 2025, Fernando MacVane Taylor I departed this world at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center in Williamsburg, Virginia.
Fernando was born on March 9, 1953, to the late Ernest and Avi Graves Taylor in Williamsburg, Virginia. He was the youngest of four children and was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved sister Delores Taylor Ferguson, and his brother Leon Taylor.
“Nan,” as he was affectionately known, graduated from James Blair in the Class of 1971. He retired from Camp Peary after thirty-six years of service and continued his career as an Independent Contractor for several years.
Fernando was a lifelong member of CBC Word Ministry and a devoted servant of the Lord. He served faithfully on both the Deacon and Trustee Boards.
He loved his family, enjoyed listening to music, riding his motorcycle, and capturing life’s moments through photography. He was also a proud member of the Spyder Ryders, where he found a shared passion for riding and a deep sense of brotherhood. A true lover of music, Fernando found joy and comfort in song. His passion for soulful melodies was matched only by the warmth he shared with everyone he encountered. He had a kind soul, a gentle spirit, and an unwavering love for his family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories his devoted wife of nineteen years Annie M. Taylor; his children, Michele N. Taylor Holley, Fernando M. Taylor II, Tiara L. Camp, Ernest L. Taylor, Joseph L. Brown, Alisha M. Tabb (Antonio), and Jarrett L. Brown (Sharese); his loving brother Osborne Taylor Sr.; and a lasting legacy through his many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family, and friends; including special friends, Alonzo Williams, Lou Brown, and Sherman Jones.
Fernando’s legacy is one of love, service, and unwavering faith. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Though his earthly journey has ended, the light he shared continues to shine.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses, and ICU staff at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center for their compassionate care during Fernando’s final days.
“Well done, thou good and faithful servant… enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.” — Matthew 25:2
