On Tuesday, August 25, 2020, God called home to eternal rest our beloved Genalle Marie Stokes in Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center. She was born on November 4, 1988, daughter of Roger Piggott and the late Geneva Stokes.
At an early age, Genalle joined hands in fellowship with Shiloh Baptist Church, Williamsburg, where she sang in the youth choir. She resided in Newport News for most of her life and was educated in both the Williamsburg-James City County and Newport News Public School Systems.
Always striving to excel, she started a small business called Eva Pearl Corporation LLC., selling various types of merchandise such as clothing, jewelry, shoes, and other items. Genalle was a very loving person who loved her family and friends. She was truly devoted to their happiness and welfare.
Genalle was preceded in death by her grandfather, Eddie Stokes Sr. She leaves to cherish fond memories, her father, Roger Piggott (Shona); paternal grandparents, Conway and Shirley Wynne; maternal grandmother, Eva Stokes; sisters, Desiree Stokes, Shawnell Stokes, and Regina McNeill; brothers, Shawn Stokes and Roger Piggott Jr.; aunts, Sherry Jones and Brenda Stokes; uncles, Clifton Stokes, Carl Stokes, Charles Stokes, Eddie Stokes Jr., and James Stokes; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, and caring friends.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 5, 2020, in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery, Williamsburg. Face covering and social distancing are required. A walk-through viewing will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
