George Pernell Brooks

George "BabyLee" Pernell Brooks was born on April 29, 1945, to the late Alberta and Elver Lee of Yorktown, Virginia. George peacefully transitioned to eternal rest on Thursday, November 16, 2023.

George graduated from James Weldon Johnson School, now known as Yorktown Intermediate School. He was later employed at VEPCO for many years. He also worked various other jobs.

George loved fast cars and motorcycles. He was a member of the Corvette Club and the motorcycle club. He was always neat and loved to dress in stylish clothes.

George was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Brooks, and brother, Don Brooks.

He is survived by three daughters, Lolita Dione Brooks, Kanika Wyatt, and Chiquita Currie; one son, Andre’ Lamonte Brooks; one sister, Penny Boone; three brothers, Elver Lee (Pinky), Stanley, and Horace Brooks; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 25, 2023, in Whiting's Funeral Home.
