Harold Junius Johnson was called home to eternal rest on Sunday, October 4, 2020, in Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center, Williamsburg, VA. He was born on October 2, 1935, the oldest son of the late William Oscar and Lorraine Pickett Johnson.
A lifelong resident of the Croaker community, he was baptized at an early age and joined Shiloh Baptist Church, Williamsburg, VA
Harold was employed at the Newport News Shipbuilders, in the Tool Room (X-19). He retired after 39 years of dedicated service.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, George Johnson and Clemmon Johnson; two daughters, Barbara Pendergraft and Vanessa Tyler; and a son, Neil Frazier.
He is survived by his brother, James Johnson Sr.; his companion and caretaker, Wynona Walker; children, Kenneth Tyler (Bonita), Maxine Barlow, Elaine Wallace (Kirk), Justina Tyler (Quinton), Anita Crump (Michael), Anthony Frazier (Bonita), Darryle Frazier (Pamela), Rema Henderson (Mark), Carles Hankle (Olanda), Crystal Hill (Richard), Carol Pierce, Audrea Fauntleroy (Reginald), David Piggott Sr. (Karin), Michelle L. Jones, Alphonzo Walker (Tanya), Cornelius Walker (Chequita), Latasha Johnson (Tremel); two devoted grandchildren, Aaliyah Christian and Denis Christian; a host of other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; uncle, Theodore Johnson; sister-in-law, Iris Johnson; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many loving friends.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon Friday, October 9, 2020, in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery, Williamsburg. Facebook Livestream will be available for this service. Face coverings and social distancing are required. A walkthrough viewing will be held on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
