Helen Elizabeth Trower

Helen Elizabeth Trower, age 83, affectionately known as Baby Doll, departed this life on Wednesday, April 20, 20222. She was born on May 29, 1938, to the late Wilson and Matilda Trower. Helen was also preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers.

At an early age, she accepted Christ and joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Charles City, VA, where she served on the Senior Usher Board and Mt. Zion Baptist Church Willing Workers Club until her health began to fail.

Helen attended the Charles City County Public Schools, graduating from Ruthville High School. After many years of service, she retired from The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation’s Lodge.

Helen enjoyed shopping, traveling, and spending time with her nieces and nephews.  She will be missed by all who knew her, but we take comfort in knowing that she is resting in the arms of her Lord and Savior.

She leaves to cherish her memories a devoted niece, Rosa Brown; devoted nephew, Douglas Smith Jr.; devoted brother-in-law, Douglas Smith Sr; devoted cousin, Deaconess Hancy Hatchett, and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A graveside ceremony will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2022, in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Charles City.  Livestream will be available at the beginning of the service.  Facial coverings are recommended.
