Henry Lee Jackson entered into eternal rest on Thursday, December 17, 2020, in his home. He was born on August 12, 1959, to the late Florence and James Henry Jackson in Williamsburg, Virginia.
He attended the Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools, graduating from Lafayette High School. After graduating he enlisted in the United States Army.
Henry loved the Lord and faithfully attended the Williamsburg Community Chapel. He was a devoted servant to his brothers and sisters in the faith. Even with his busy schedule he always found time to give encouragement to young people. He ministered to inmates and sometimes provided them with jobs upon their release.
He worked several jobs in the Williamsburg area but his employment at Busch Gardens of Williamsburg is where he discovered his true talent for landscaping. He became a Certified Horticulturist at Virginia Tech which prompted him to start his own landscaping business, HJ Landscape Diversified. He loved his profession, and he transformed many yards from weeds and bushes into beautiful gardens and park-like paradises.
He was a hardworking man committed to his family and friends. He had an outgoing personality and a quick laugh that was loud and contagious. He was a cultivator of land destined to make beautiful things grow. Now God has called his hardworking hands to rest in His garden in heaven.
Fond memories will forever remain with his wife, Susie Jackson; daughters, Lashawnna Hill (Deonta), Shanelle West (Ikeem), Candice Babb (Taifa); stepsons, Miguel Johnson (Christine) and Bryan Easley; fourteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sisters, Jannie Johnson and Jessie Marsh; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at Williamsburg Community Chapel. Facebook Livestream will be available for this service. Interment to follow in Williamsburg Memorial Park. Mr. Jackson may be viewed from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 3, 2021, in the funeral home. Facial coverings and social distancing will be required for all services.
