Isiah Glenn Daughtry, our beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend, entered into eternal rest early in the morning on Monday, October 13, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer and other illnesses. His earthly journey began on January 30, 1942, the son of Timothy and Rosie Daughtry, of Princess Anne County (now Virginia Beach), Virginia.
Isiah was educated in the Princess Anne County Training School, after which he proudly and honorably served in the United States Army. He later moved to Williamsburg and worked for the Shoe Repair Store, The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, and retired from Anheuser-Busch Inc. after twenty years of service.
Isiah met and married the love of his life, Josephine S. Daughtry of Suffolk. This union was blessed with a daughter and a stepson.
Isiah loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Williamsburg, where he served as Head Deacon and assisted in keeping the house of the Lord clean.
Isiah lived a good life. He enjoyed family and friends. He loved bowling and karaoke. Isiah’s kind spirit and loving heart will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Along with his parents, Isiah was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine; and brothers, Ernest Daughtry and Shervett Daughtry.
He leaves to cherish fond memories his daughter, Marjie Greehow; stepchildren, Tonya Tyler (Lester), Maryland Pittman, Paula Collins, Yvonne Goodman, Tony Wheeler, and Shantina Maldives (Charles); brothers, Rev. Linwood Daughtry, John Daughtry (Rhonda), Charles Daughtry (Karola), and Clifton Daughtry; and sisters, Ann Franklin, Carole Magwood, and Louise Fuller (Edward); and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
A memorial service to celebrate Isiah’s life will be held at Noon on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Whiting’s Funeral Home.
Professional services have been entrusted to the staff of Whiting’s Funeral Home, 7005 Pocahontas Trail, Williamsburg, Virginia 23185. 757-229-3011 whitingsfuneralhome.com
