On Sunday, September 24, 2023, Jamar Anthony Cowles answered the Master’s call and entered eternal rest. His life began on May 28, 1984, the son of Evelyn Minkins and the late Gary Cowles of Williamsburg, Va.
Jamar was educated in the Williamsburg-James City County Public School system. Jamar was a proud Philadelphia Eagles fan. He was also a dedicated worker at Kentucky Fried Chicken and a Bail Bondsman for Radcliffe Bail & Bond. Fishing and listening to music were some of his favorite pastimes. Jamar’s heart was so big, he would do anything for anyone that he could. If there was a need he would find a way to fix it. He wanted to make everyone happy.
Jamar is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jearl Cowles and Hyler and George Minkins Sr.; uncles, John Wayne, Walter George Jr., and Jerry Minkins; aunts, Joyce Swinton and Hestoria Banks.
He leaves loving memories with his mother, Evelyn Minkins (Craig Jones); brother, Lamont Minkins; special younger brother, Mario Cofield; grandmother, Cora Cowles; uncles, Mark Minkins, Ronnie Minkins (Aleta), and Marlon Cowles (LeAnn); aunts, Aundria Cowles, Nora West (James), Doressa Lucas, and Geraldine Moore (Jerome); devoted friends, Gregory Banks, Bridgette Dillard, Dexter Radcliffe Sr., Keith Minkins, and Rachel Greenhow; and a host of cousins, other loving relatives, and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 7, 2023, in the Little Zion Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
